1_ Born in 1911, Mr Fauja Singh grew up in India, where he got married and had children. He worked as a farmer before he moved to London in the mid-1990s. Most elderly people want a quiet life in their retirement, but not Mr Singh. At the age of 89, he started running marathons. He completed nine marathons before eventually stopping at the age of 101. It’s hard to believe that when he was a child, a weakness in his legs meant that he couldn’t walk properly until he was five.
2_ Alma Deutscher was born in 2005, in England. As a child she learnt music very easily. She could play the piano when she was two, and started violin lessons at the age of three. Her family moved house to be nearer a famous music school and when Alma was seven, she wrote her first opera. Millions of people around the world watched videos of her playing it on YouTube. Alma says,”The music comes to me when I’m relaxing.” She is an inspiration to all young musicians.
3_ When Akrit Jaswal was born, his mother knew he had unusual talents. She said he was never really a toddler-he learnt to walk and talk before he was one. By the age of five, he could read and write fluently. He loved Biology and doctors at his local hospital said he could watch them doing operations. Akrit did his first operation at the age of seven. At twelve years old, he was the youngest person to go to university in India.
4_ Max Rojos is from Argentina. When he was a child, he spent a year in hospital after a serious accident. He told his mother, “I can’t walk now, but one day I will. And then I’m going to ride my bike around the world”. Fortunately, he recovered, and achieved his dream. He cycled 24.000 km, from Venezuela, through Argentina to Brasil. Max’s story shows us that nothing is impossible.
8) In the first photo there is a man running. He is very old. This photo is next to the text because the text speaks about an old man that ran marathons.
In the second photo there is a girl playing the violin. She’s seven years old. The text next to the photo speaks about her, a young musician that writes operas and plays the violin and the piano on Youtube.
In the third photo there is a doctor’s hand taking some scissors for an operation. This photo is related to the text because the text is about a young man who did his first operation when he was a child.
In the fourth photo there is a man riding a bike and the text is about a man wo couldn’t walk when he was a child but who cycled around the world when he recovered.

       I can do my homework
       I couldn’t  steal
       I could study all days
       I couldn’t  burn the land
12) There are three girls on their mobile phones. I think they are on a bed. They are in their pyjamas. One of the girl is listening to music. The others girls are seeing something on a phone. They are feeling happy because they are having a sleepover. This photo is next to the text because the text is a survey about how you feel when you do different things.
