6. In 2011, George Flood found a glass bottle with a message with an address in Perth. He wrote to the address and got an answer from Peter, the grandson of the man who wrote the message a long time ago.
In 1992, two men were working in a field and lost a tool. They used a metal detector to find it and found some old coins. They told some archaeologists and the archaeologists found some jewellery and a lot of Roman coins.
A dog was looking through some rubbish ON the beach and the dog found a “rock”. It was ambergris, a very valuable ingredient used in perfumes that comes from whales’ stomachs. He did some research and found out that it was worth $180,000.

In the photo there is a bottle in the sea with a piece of paper inside. It is a message from one man who threw it into the water a long time ago. The person who found the bottle sent a letter to the address inside the bottle and got an answer from the man who wrote the message’s grandson.

She is 24 years old. She moved to New York after college but she felt sad and lonely. One day, while she was travelling to work on the train, she wrote a letter to the person who was sitting opposite her. Later, she wrote more letters to people all over New York. She did this because she wanted to make people happy. Over the next year, Hannah wrote 400 letters to strangers, and started a website, the World Needs More Love Letters. Today more than 10,000 people all over the world are finding letters from strangers.

Speaker 1 was feeling nervous because it was the day of his exam results. So he went shopping. While he was unpacking his shopping bag, he found a secret letter. Maybe the shop assistant put it there. When he got the note, he felt happy and calm. In the end, his exam results were great.
Speaker 2 was feeling miserable, so he went to the library to borrow a film. While he was choosing the film, he saw a blue envelope which had a note inside. It was a cheerful message plus a packet of seeds. It was a lovely surprise and it made him feel better.
This morning, while speaker 3 was waiting for the bus, she found a box of chocolate on the seat, and a note with kind words. Who was the note from? She doesn´t know, but she’s so glad. It was really nice.
Speaker 4 was sitting in a café while she was having a cup of coffee. As she was putting some sugar into her coffee, she found a note under the sugar bowl. It wished her good luck and it was nice. So she did the same. Perhaps the waiter or the next customer felt more cheerful thanks to her.

There are some letters, as Hannah left everywhere. The text speaks about different people that left kind notes to strangers to make them feel good (Hannah on the train, someone at the supermarket, someone else in a library, another person at the bus stop and also someone left a note in a café).
