PART 2

Exercise 14:
1·Last week, one woman called the emergency service because she saw a child on the top of a tree. When the policeman arrived, he climbed it but... he was frightened too! He had to call the fire service to get him down.

2·Yesterday, it was the one hundred two birthday of Dorothy Custer. She celebrated it practising BASE jump on a canyon in the USA. She was very excited and nervous, but she wasn't sick. She said to us that last year she did zipline on the same canyon.
3·Eight weeks ago, two dogs drove a car for the first time! Of course, they received driving lessons and they felt calm, relaxed and they really enjoy it. They didn't feel nervous.
4·This morning, a lady got to(or “arrived at”) her house from work and she found a sleeping man in her sofa. She saw his pockets and she found out he was a robber! Finally, she called the police.
5·Two months ago, Margaret Parker found one baby tortoise that didn't get hungry neither thirsty. She called the Wildlife Rescue Centre and the company sent her one man that discovered one message on its bottom. It said: “Made in China”. It was a toy!

Exercise 20:
My classes at school start at half past eight in the morning and finish at twenty five past two in the evening. I and my classmates have six fifty five minutes lessons per day. Also, we have a break from quarter past eleven to quarter to twelve and we usually talk under the sunlight because it is a bit cold these days.
My favourite subject is English: I love languages. But my least favourite subject is Maths. I also think I am better in English than in Maths.

Exercise 22:
Last summer a group of friends were bored so Jenny texted them about a silent disco. They thought it would be a good idea so they went there. In the hall there were a lot of people with headphones on their heads. Later, they found out they reproduced different styles of music and everybody could practise different dances too. But there weren't any music sounds in the room! Then, they joined the party and took some pairs of headphones. When they wanted to talk they had to take them off and they laughed a lot. It ended at eleven p.m. and they felt so good. They thought it was funny and they loved it.

Exercise 23:
In the photograph on page eighteen there are a lot of people dancing with headphones on their heads. They are in the silent disco for teenagers we talk about at the text.

Exercise 24:
Last year, I went to Costa Rica with my family because my uncle wanted to take us on a trip.  It was summer and it was so hot so we didn't say no.
The first night we were there, we slept in an amazing hotel and, the next morning, we went to the beach. It was wonderful and I played water polo with my cousin. We laughed a lot and we got very tired. But, that night we also went to an incredible restaurant that had kind smiling waiters.
I enjoyed it very much and I didn't want to return to Europe.
